Haunted Toledo Hunts The Historic Toledo Yacht Club
On September 9th, the Haunted Toledo Crew stepped inside the notorious Toledo Yacht Club, a favorite hotspot of ghost hunters in the area and a building made famous on the SyFy reality show, Ghost Hunters.
The Toledo Yacht Club is one of the oldest operating yacht clubs in North America and, according to local lore, it’s also one of the most haunted!
The night began at 7:30pm and lasted into early morning. Not a square foot of this historic building went unexplored. While most of the night progressed uneventfully, things really began to heat up shortly after midnight.
While the Crew was conducting EVP sessions in the basement, investigators Christopher Tillman and Sarah Chelten were inexplicably drawn to the servant’s stairwell.
As they climbed the concrete stairs, the atmosphere surrounding them began to become heavy and electric.
“Something was drawing us up those stairs, towards the attic,” recalled Chelten.
As the two reached the attic door, the air around them seemed to dance with energy. Nervously, Tillman called out a greeting for “Jacob,” the ghost of a young boy who is said to have died when he fell from the ballroom balcony over a century ago. Legend says Jacob’s spirit can often be encountered in the Yacht Club’s attic, playing with the toys left by visitors and ghost hunters.
As Tillman and Chelten maneuvered cautiously across the length of the attic, the pair began to feel the air compress around them, an electric chill creeping across their bare skin.
It was then that the most hair-raising moment of the entire night took place… something made its presence known.
