Paranormal Toledo 2016: A Recap of the Day
It’s official: Toledo’s very first paranormal convention was an unparalleled success!
The turnout for Paranormal Toledo at the Collingwood Arts Center was everything hoped for and more! The place was packed! Everywhere you went, the place was full of people listening and interacting with the speakers, browsing the vendor tables, and exploring every inch of one of Toledo’s most impressive and legendary buildings!
My personal highlights involved an in-depth conversation with Pat Tansey about the history of the Arts Center, Harold St John’s presentation in the Underground where he played an absolutely bone-chilling video clip from one of his investigations, listening to Grizzly Brown of WXKR 94.5FM relate his experiences with the strange and unusual, and meeting all those people in person whom I had only previously interacted with online.
The coolest part of the day, though, was being able to wander the building in between activities and see everyone enjoying themselves during the tours or just wandering around like me. Everywhere you went, there were people exploring the legends of Collingwood, taking pictures, K2ing, and EVPing. It was just awesome to see.
It was also pretty awesome how the news of strange activity would spread like wildfire throughout the convention! Throughout the day I would hear convention-goers tell each other their experiences in certain parts of the building – “Someone had their shirt tugged while in the piano room,” or “Something brushed past me in the theater!” It was just really fun to see everyone enjoying themselves. Really good day.
Thank you to everyone who showed up for this great event! Thank you to all the vendors! And, thank you to Lexi Hayman-Staples, Al Luna, Jason Schneider, Scott and Wendy Mahoney, Chris Bores, and all the rest at the Collingwood Arts Center for helping to put on a stellar event that will surely become a Toledo tradition for many years to come!
I’m totally honored to have been part of Paranormal Toledo and hope to see you all again next year!
